Testing criteria for cosmetic products

These sensory criteria fall under the category of quality criteria for cosmetics product and are not legally required for testing. However, businesses may conduct tests to obtain an overall assessment of their products.
Heavy metal criteria:

Microbiological criteria:
- Determination of Total viable microorganisms count
- Detection of Candida albicans
- Detection of Staphylococcus aureus
- Detection of Pseudomonas aeruginosa
Among them, the group of heavy metal criteria and microbiological criteria are mandatory testing criteria according to regulations to assess the safety level of the product, ensuring it does not pose harm to consumers.
Additionally, cosmetics need to control pH, assess skin irritation, and ensure they do not contain prohibited substances (such as Corticoids, hydroquinone…), and do not exceed the concentration limits of certain substances as regulated in the ASEAN agreement.
